Given the production dates of those laptops, that is almost
certainly the problem.
Swapping out the WLAN card will fix it.

I have a XO 1.5 that no longer boot, and display doesn't turn on at
all with no booting sound.
the last time I used it, I shut it by pressing the shutdown button for
around 5 sec I don't know if it is a safe way to do or if it is
related to this problem.
