I was referring to flash capacity which will enable it to run the filesystem
uncompressed. On gen1 you have no swap, scarce RAM and a compressed
filesystem that the CPU must deal with when it needs to get something from
the flash, which is mostly all the time IMHO.

Looking at the list of issues on the XO at the moment I notice an
issue with sound, which I can see too. Looking at alsa 1.0.19 [1] it
looks like the driver has been merged. I know there's issues with the
merge of stuff for the sensors but other than this is there still

will be custom images, not olpc official ones - so I am wondering how
I could sign them myself, creating a custom certificate for this.
