Yeah, it's not quite that simple. You need to leave the interaction
with the OLPC mode/variant in place. Add the following lines to the
end of the file:
partial alphanumeric_keys
xkb_symbols "olpc" {
include "np"
include "group(olpc)"
};
Now it should work.
