Need some space
Hi all, I've been in discussions with Daniel Drake about taking over the builds for F11/Sugar for the XO-1. I will be working to backport the work done in the XO-1.5 branch to the XO-1. Due to space limitations on my FedoraPeople account I need some place to host the images. Can I get an account at laptop.org to host these? Steven M. New F11-for-XO1 build is available and needs testing
I have taken over creating builds for the XO1 from Daniel, and have created a new build of F11 for the XO1. This build "OS3" includes the pretty boot animations, and also replaces olpcsound with csound. I would apprectiate testing and feedback. I will have another build out early next week as well. Builds can be downloaded from http://dev.laptop.org/~smparrish/xo-1/builds/ The usual cautions apply: this is development code, there will be bugs. Installation instructions: use copy-nand to install os3.img with os3.crc. Steven ===== Steven M. Another F11 build for the XO-1 has been released
I have released a new build of F11 for the XO-1 named OS4 You can find it at http://dev.laptop.org/~smparrish/xo-1/builds/ This new build includes the addition of the ImageViewer, Physics and Jukebox Activities, an update to the Write Activity, and the kbdshim and powerd packages. I have also included the md5sum for the .img and .iso Keep in mind this is a full OS image and installing it will result in the loss of all data on your XO-1. The usual cautions apply: this is development code, there will be bugs. Installation instructions: use copy-nand to install os4.img with os4.crc. = Steven M. F11 for the XO - Build 9 issues
I am seeing too many issues with OS9 to be comfortable leaving it in the wild. OS8 is still available and if you have upgraded to OS9 I would suggest reflashing with OS8 until the issues can be resolved.. I have a new release OS10 that I will be testing over the weekend with a goal of getting it out by Monday for community testing. I appreciate all the feedback on OS9 and apologize for the problems. I released OS11 as a 1st build with the new buildsystem. There are still some issues which need to be addressed but I wanted to get a new build with updated kernel etc out for testing. I did some local testing with powe rmanagement disabled by default and the issue persisted. It only went away when I went into the control panel and manually enabled and then disabled power management. I truly wish I had the hours to devote to tracking down and fixing all these issues, however the $DAYJOB along with commute time keeps me away from home for 13 hours a day, and the $DAYJOB is not in the industry, where I could work on this on the side, but it does pay the bills. It is my hope to get the remaining issues addressed in short order so a final release can be made. We do have a time constraint since F11 the base of our releases will go "End of Life" in June. I appreciate all the testing you and others are doing and would welcome any assistance in tracking down and exterminating these final few issues. Steven -- = Steven M.
