Here are some thoughts In the deployment I have been managing we have used
the server in two ways:
1. As a jabber server only. We have about 140 XO-1s, and without the jabber
server, the cross-talk slowed down the devices dramatically when more than

1. Create an ad-hoc network on one of the 1.5s.
2. Connect to it on the 1.0s.
3. Open Chat and make public.

Once you connect to one of the ad-hoc networks, you will see the
familiar parentheses surrounding it. Then, in the Neighborhood View on
the the XOs, this network should appear as a wireless device.
I would start troubleshooting by going o Settings and turning the
radio off and then on
The adhoc network looks like any other wireless device.
Do check the version.
I think I had to start the chat on the 1.5, but I am not sure.
