Re: [Server-devel] [XSCE] activation server feature XSCE 5.0
I found the problem: i just had to add the following configuration to lan interface configuration file, which in my case is /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-p2p1 # The actrd initramfs tries to connect to the server on 172.18.0.1 to request # activation. Retain this old/deprecated address binding for compatibility. IPADDR2=172.18.0.1 NETMASK2=255.255.255.0 and thenexecute /etc/sysconfig/olpc-scripts/setup.d/xs-activation and the activations works fine... 2014-07-04 16:31 GMT-06:00 James Cameron qu...@laptop.org: I haven't heard of any XSCE deployments that wish to use the OLPC security system at the same time, so you are probably the first to try. I think the next step in diagnosis will be to find out what the XO does during the activation step, find out how XS-0.7 implements this, and ensure XSCE does as well. -- James Cameron http://quozl.linux.org.au/ ___ Server-devel mailing list Server-devel@lists.laptop.org http://lists.laptop.org/listinfo/server-devel
[Server-devel] activation server feature XSCE 5.0
Hello I'm trying to configure a server based on XSCE 5.0, one of the things that i want to set up is the xs-activation [0] feature, is this supported on XSCE 5.0? 1. Install the package 'yum install xs-activation' 2. Create a lease.sig with cjson format. 3. Copy the lease.sig to the server, by scp or cp. 4. Run 'xs-activation-import /home/fzt/' (this is where lease.sig is placed). 5. Turn on a XO waiting for activation, it never gets activated. Any ideas? Here is the error log. 2014-07-01 16:45 GMT-06:00 James Cameron qu...@laptop.org: SSL uses the system time, not the hardware clock, so you should use the date command to check it. # date (A misconfigured kernel on hardware with multiple RTC can show good data from hwclock, but bad data using the date command.) [Server-devel] Initial configuration for XSCE 5.0
Hi I'm trying XSCE 5.0 on a pc box today Hardware: Clon PC - 1 TB HDD, 2 NIC, 2 RAM GB. Fedora 18 - 32 bits, minimal install. i want to use this as a internet gateway at schools. The configuration that i followed was: cd ~/ git clone https://github.com/XSCE/xsce cd xsce ./runansible reboot I have a few questions about the configuration, we configure our XS in Nicaragua like this: - Set hostname. On XS 0.7 was # xs-setup schoolserver.escuela.managua.fzt.org # reboot On XSCE? - Set static IP for WAN. On XS 0.7 was: edit this template /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth1. On XSCE? - Configure DHCP to disable internet access to non xo laptops. i founf this [0], which is similar to our configuration. - Set DNS forwarders - to openDNS edit this config file /etc/named-xs.conf.in and set the dns forwarders {208.67.222.222; 208.67.220.220;}; i found this[1], but when i want to run the command xs-domain-config, this is missing. Thank you for all your help.
