The various alpha suffix revisions fix the problems that have been reported. Systematic testing has not happened yet. Is there a plan yet for engaging deployment teams to do testing? Re: Announcing Q2E42 firmware for XO-1.0
Tested on CL1, CL1A SKU39, and B4. Tested built-in tests, keyboard, two touchpad types, camera, and sound. Tested booting with OLPC build 802, F11-for-XO-1 build os10, and DebXO 0.5 KDE. Reproduced #10024 (fails to detect the SD card on the first attempt), and confirmed Q2E42a fixes it. -- James Cameron http://quozl.linux.org.au/ ___ Devel mailing list Devel@lists.laptop.org http://lists.laptop.org/listinfo/devel
Re: Announcing Q2E42 firmware for XO-1.0
On a very fast test on XO-1 CL1. Running F11-XO1/os10 there are 2 batteries in frame. However, the major problem appears to be that there is a delayed detection of the SDcard. Thus is looking for the olpc.fth file, first in USB then in the NAND and never in the SDcard. Booting from USB is fine. Even flashing the firmware back to q2e41 with flash sd:\boot\q2e41.rom, first time the response is Cant't open device. Re-type the command without rebooting. Is fine. Tried a 2 different SD cards just in case, one ext2 formated the other vfat. Same result. Back to q2e41, everything is fine. - http://wiki.laptop.org/go/OLPC_Firmware_q2e42 This release is for testing a number of security enhancements for XO-1.0 and many other changes that have been added to the source tree during the development of XO-1.5. Since it has been a long time since the last XO-1.0 firmware release, it would not be surprising to find problems with this release, so the best guess is that another XO-1.0 release will be needed before widespread deployment. Some scripts (in olpc-utils, IIRC) were probing for apci data, and falling back to XO-1 specific interfaces. If F11-for-XO-1 can include a signed version of this (or later) OFW, the compat crud can be removed, simplifying things and unifying with XO-1.5 code. cheers, m -- martin.langh...@gmail.com mar...@laptop.org -- School Server Architect - ask interesting questions - don't get distracted with shiny stuff - working code first - http://wiki.laptop.org/go/User:Martinlanghoff ___ Devel mailing list Devel@lists.laptop.org http://lists.laptop.org/listinfo/devel
Re: Announcing Q2E42 firmware for XO-1.0
Installed Q2E42 on XO-1s with F9 builds, F11 builds, and F12 builds, all booted from jffs2. Q2E42 did not test the develop.sig on the SD card - only on device 'int:' Regularly the machines would stall (last line shown: either Using USB keyboard or Type the ESC key to interrupt automatic startup) UNLESS I had before booting detached the USB cable coming from the external hub. This stalling situation appeared to me to occur more often than with Q2E41. mikus p.s. one battery icon in Frame ___ Devel mailing list Devel@lists.laptop.org http://lists.laptop.org/listinfo/devel
