Wired networking for NetworkManager? If so, you must restart NetworkManager.
Besides, for what I know, clean install goes for SystemD :-?

networking does not work. Even with:
/etc/init.d/net.eth0 start
Warning: net.eth0 is already starting
waiting forever for it to start.
It's a clean install from the x64 gnome latest iso file.
