Hi,
I took it upon me to make the 2017.10 tag a proper annotated tag using `git
tag -a` (`git describe` on current master no returns `2017.10-devel`). The
last real annotated tag was 2017.04-devel, so for the last two releases our
master counted commits from 2017.01 ;-).

Dear RIOT'ers,
I've just created the 2017.07 branch and tagged the first release
candidate [1], which means we're now in feature freeze.
Final 2017.07 release is still planned for the 14th of July.
Theres an issue for tracking the testing progress at [2]. Any help is
highly appreciated!
