Hi, Ben

nodejs-dateformat-3.0.3-5 nodejs-load-grunt-tasks-5.1.0-1 and nodejs-
locate-path-2.0.0-7 are now in rawhide .

Let me know if we still have problems .

Thank you.

Yes, I started it awhile ago and made some progress. I think it's
still broken though; I lost track of where I'd gotten to. :(

I had fixed legacy-util but didn't own it; I've just claimed the
package in Pagure. Rawhide has the latest version.

No, it didn't.

I'm no fan of modularity but there is no need to blame it
for things it is not responsible for.

As I explained the other day js-jquery was dependent on a
nodejs module (a normal one, not modularised) which was
failing to build and which I have now fixed.

The only part of the nodejs stack that is modularised is
the actual nodejs engine - the large set of modules from npm
are just normal packages and that is what was involved here.

Ack. The unbundling of js-jsquery has been an explicit requirement in
the package review. So either skip documentation nearly entirely or use
the bundled scripts with a small risk of vulnaribility issues.

I don't think modularity is to blame here.

Previously, there were a lot of bundling exceptions for JS packages. It
took a lot of time to get js-jsquery as independent package.

But 1) the people who did that are probably burned out by the heroic
effort 2) they don't have the cycles anymore or 3) since the bundling
policy is relaxed, everybody just bundles with zero motivation to
maintain package for somebody else.

js-jquery - Re: List of long term FTBFS packages to be retired in February (beta)

2019-11-28 Thread Raphael Groner

Hi,

in case of my packages, jpype and pyvirtualize, I'd say to skip
generation of documentation while js-jquery is b0rken.

What's the issue about js-jquery? I tend to blame modularity due to
nodejs-*.

Just my 5ct.

Regards, Raphael

When did js-query disappear and why?

Well it hasn't (yet) but it depends on nodejs-shelljs which is
apparently currently FTBFS and hence will be retired.

Oddly I can't see an FTBFS ticket for nodejs-shelljs but the last
two koji builds were cancelled before completion. I think they may
have timed out because it looks like the tests might be hanging.

I've done a new build of an updated nodejs-shelljs now.

When did js-query disappear and why?

js-jquery-3.3.1-2.fc30.src requires npm(shelljs) = 0.7.3

nodejs-shelljs was built in Fedora 29.

This one has been retired (and obsoleted) since Fedora 30, but looks like
something has gone wrong and it never got automatically blocked in koji. It
correctly has dead.package in git. I suspect other packages in this list
may be the same.
