Review swap: 2 GAP packages

2024-03-22 Thread Jerry James
With the arrival of GAP 4.13.0 in Rawhide, I find myself in need of 2
more GAP packages (which do some work in C rather than in the GAP
language, for speed):
- gap-pkg-anupq: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2270581
- gap-pkg-fplsa: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2270856

I am happy to swap reviews. Let me know what I can review for you.

Review-swap: trivial golang package to update nats stack

I'd like to offer to swap reviews to get golang-github-nats-io-jwt-2

We already have v1 and attempting to update that package in order to
upgrade the nats stack led to some breakage and headaches a few months ago

I'm still looking for a review of python-vkbasalt-cli [1]. It's the last

simple and the review shouldn't take much time.

My offer to do a review in return still stands.

Meanwhile python-fvs has been reviewed and pushed. Thanks @gotmax23!

NeuroFedora review swap: python-formulaic

2022-11-08 Thread Ankur Sinha
Hi folks,

Would someone like to swap reviews please? I'd like to get
python-formulaic reviewed and included in Fedora[1]. It's required to
update python-pybids to the latest version[2]

It should be a straightforward review. Unofficial reviews from candidate
package maintainers looking for review practice are also most welcome.

GAP 4.12 and a package review swap

2022-09-14 Thread Jerry James
The gap package has a new version available (4.12), which comes with
significant improvements over 4.11. I've been working on updating the
entire gap stack [1] for the new version. The spec files have been
simplified and made more uniform, which should aid future maintenance.
I need one new package as part of this effort. Who would like to swap
reviews?

Pretty simple package, just a small library and a single tool.

This bug depends on a change to the Rawhide kernel configuration
before it will work (https://bugzilla.redhat.com/2122595) but I don't
think that needs to get in the way of the review.

Will swap for something which isn't _too_ complicated(!)

Yes, that's on the list. This is what I had lined up to do next week
sometime, after the python-primecountpy review is completed.

- Update L-function to 2.0.5. I did not notice that this changes the
L-function soname downwards. Ugh. Still, as you say, that should be
okay since sagemath is the only consumer. I had added a comment at
the top of the spec file noting that we should rename it "lcalc". :-)
- Update python-cysignals to 1.11.2
- Update Singular to 4.2.1p3
- Update sympy to 1.10
- Add python-primecountpy 0.1.0
- Rebuild polymake due to the Singular update
- Rebuild python-pysingular due to the Singular update
- Update sagemath to 9.5
- Retire pynac, which has been absorbed into sagemath

Is there any of that you would prefer to do yourself? I don't want to
step on your toes at all. Or if you would like to see the changes I'm
planning to make to any of those packages, I'm happy to share the spec
files and relevant patches with you.

And then I'm going back to trying to retire from tending mathematical
packages in Fedora. If you want any of the packages I currently
maintain, let me know and I will transfer them to you. Regards,

If nobody takes it, I can review.

I was about to ask for a review as well, as I have my own version locally :)

Did not double check if already done, but will need to change L-function to
use the sage spkg as upstream is no longer available. This will also need a

Singular soname bump and a review swap

2022-03-07 Thread Jerry James
As you all know by now, I'm trying to retire as steward of the
sagemath and Macaulay2 stacks. Nevertheless, after some impassioned
pleas from a couple of sagemath users, I have prepared an update for
sagemath 9.5. This will require an update to Singular 4.2.1p3, which
comes with an soname bump.

Sagemath 9.5 has spun the primecount interface out into a separate
package. This means that I need to *add* one package to the set I am
trying to give away so that I can keep claiming that the packages are
in good shape. Is anyone interested in a review swap? I need this
one:

python-primecountpy:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=2061570

The updates will be done sometime next week, after that review is complete.

Your email made me look at this upstream
(https://github.com/packit/specfile). It looks interesting! I wonder
if we could use it more broadly (like for pyrpkg). It reminds me of
https://github.com/containerbuildsystem/dockerfile-parse .

I have proposed a python-colored-traceback package at:

I am anxious to get python-colored-traceback reviewed, because the

with the release of 4.7.0.

Review swap

2021-12-18 Thread Christoph Junghans
Hi,

can someone please review:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2032487

This is basically a merge of votca-{tools,csg,xtp} to make building it
easier (no more chain builds) and to allow for more testing. Plus it
will package the tutorials as well.

I am happy to review a package in exchange.

Cheers,

Christoph

Review swap for new azure-cli dependency

2021-09-07 Thread Major Hayden

 Hey there,

I'm in the process of updating azure-cli to 2.28.0, but it added a new
requirement for another SDK component called
azure-synapse-managedprivateendpoints. That one isn't packaged currently, but
I've proposed a package in BZ 2001918[0].

The package is quite simple and matches most of the other python-azure-* SDK
components that are already packaged. Would someone be able to do a review swap
so I can get azure-cli updated?

I'm most familiar reviewing Python, C/C++, and golang, but I can always learn
something new. 

Thank you!

Azure CLI + SDK packaging update and review swap request

2021-07-27 Thread Major Hayden

Hey folks,

Thanks to everyone who helped with package reviews and guidance as I
cobbled together the Azure CLI and SDK packages. The work is almost
complete!

There are a few remaining packages left to review:

  python-azure-appconfiguration (required SDK component)
  https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1981573

python-azure-devtools (for testing the Azure CLI/SDK)
  https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1986414

  python-azure-mgmt-insights (required SDK component)
  https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1981574

Once those are done, Azure CLI is ready to review:

  azure-cli
  https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1986602

Then there are a couple of remaining SDK components that are
nice-to-have, but not directly required for the CLI to function:

  python-azure-mgmt-azurestackhci
  https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1982432

  python-azure-mgmt-hybridcompute
  https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1982435

Most of the python-azure* packages are quite standardized using
pyproject-rpm-macros. If someone has some spare cycles to look at any of
these, I'll be happy to do a review swap with you. Most of my experience
is around packaging C/C++ and Python applications, but I've done Ruby
and Golang, too.

Thank you!

This is a new dependency for grpc—a weirdly circular one that’s

Review swap request: python-xds-protos

2021-07-23 Thread Ben Beasley
I’d like to get python-xds-protos
(https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1980041) reviewed so I can
update grpc to version 1.39.0 in Rawhide in time for Fedora 35.

This is a new dependency for grpc—a weirdly circular one that’s
ultimately generated from sources inside grpc, but is separately
versioned and separately distributed (generated sources only) on PyPI,
so I am treating it as a separate package.

I’m happy to review another package, or a handful of simple packages, in
exchange. I’m particularly accustomed to reviewing Python, C, C++,
NodeJS, JavaScript, and web asset packages, but I’m happy to jump in and
review something else as long as reading the relevant domain-specific
packaging guidelines is enough to get me through the review.

Fluent Bit is a high performance and multi-platform log forwarder:

CMake as build system.

Happy to do reviews for other packages of similar complexity (Python,
Go, C++, Rust, meson/C).

Soname bumps and a review swap

2021-07-06 Thread Jerry James
Next week, I plan to build the following in Rawhide:
- antic 0.2.4
- e-antic 1.0.1 (soname bump)
- eclib 20210625 (soname bump)
- flint 2.7.1 (soname bump)
- normaliz 3.9.0

The following packages will be rebuilt due to the changes above:
- arb
- polymake
- pynac
- sagemath
- Singular

The eclib update may not be possible. I am still determining whether
the current sagemath release can handle that update. If not, eclib
will just be rebuilt for the flint soname bump, but remain at its
current version (20190909).

The new version of normaliz has a new dependency, hash-library:

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1979713

Would anyone like to swap reviews?

Review swap: git autofixup - very handy git plugin written in Perl

Hello.

I've created my first Perl package and I need somebody who can review

The git-autofixup is very useful plugin for git.

I can take a review in exchange - most of my experience is with Python

Review swap: rust-clang-ast

2021-06-22 Thread Jan Staněk
Hi all,
one of my packages (newsboat) grew yet another rust dependency,
and I need that dependency RPM reviewed [1].

I'm willing to take a review in exchange, if you need any.

Note that I tried to write directly to rust-sig ML,
but that list is moderated and I do not know if anyone actually
checks the queue :) If any Rust SIG members picks this one up,
then I'm sorry for the double offer.

Review swap: guestfs-tools

2021-03-24 Thread Richard W.M. Jones
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1942114

This is actually a split of an existing package. The existing package
(https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/libguestfs) is huge and unwieldy
and upstream we've split off the tools part from the library part. So
I want to make the same change downstream. It's explained in more
detail in the bug comments.

Will swap for a package of similar complexity.

Rich.
