Still I'd be happy if someone could try it out on 4.2 or master.

Try to see if you can catch cloud-init doing its thing in the VM
console, you might see an error message there.

I suppose you'll need a serial console for that, as scrolling up in
SPICE/VNC is impossible.

Even before the VM OS boots you can `virsh -r dumpxml ID | grep -i payload`
