Re: [Development] Avoiding ads and/or Google for doc searches
My applogies for that. I do remember a time when the ads weren't there. So that's what contributed to my error. And a sincere thank you! Hello Jason, Might I suggest an even better rule? Do not attribute any characteristics to people whose motivations, skills, and working conditions you know absolutely nothing about. You offhandedly managed to call all Qt Documentation Engineers stupid/lazy, when we in fact hated the adds and worked quite hard for a long time to have them turned off. That finally succeeded, and if you search for something now, you should not see any adds. The browser extension is cool, thank you. And yes, I broke my own rule to not attribute to malice/greed what can be explained by stupidity/laziness. I hadn't planned to mention it but given the nature of the Freenode split over user data privacy, I figured that the eyesore concern was secondary to the ad tracking/privacy concerns, and that may be of interest to those interested in switching from Freenode. ___ Development mailing list Development@qt-project.org https://lists.qt-project.org/listinfo/development

We have actually recently started to look into it (again), see https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTWEBSITE-723 if you want to get updates. For those who want to avoid ads and/or the Google search engine, consider the Qt Doc Search browser extension.
