Yes, please split. "Item Models" is also used with QtQuick so makes 
sense to separate it from QWidgets.

It was pointed out to me that this vote has come due. The usual response is to 
update Jira components and the maintainer wiki. Neither of these have a 
category for this. What is the conclusion here? Do we need a new entry in the 
wiki and Jira? If so what would be the name for it.

Then yes, by all means, +1.

I really need help with item models in QtCore, as I have absolutely no clue 
how to maintain them. Any bug reports I get in it get reassigned to "Widgets: 
Item Views" so at least someone will take a look.
