Internally we use LDAP heavily. For us it controls our security access , email
handling, and calandar (we use Steltor).
I use Rolodap for address autocompletion in my emailer (almost every emailer
supports LDAP for this purpose) and as an address book (using Netscape
Communicator). Mozilla will

G'Day All,
Just a quick note, that I have managed to get Compaq's management =
software agents and web admin stuff working on a ML 350 with Smart RAID =
and e-smith 4.1.1.
If anyone needs info quickly I can help - but I will post some clean =
formatted instructions within a couple of weeks. All

You'll need a "2.4 kernel" in order to use these drivers.
E-Smith does not use a 2.4 kernel, and I think it'll be pretty hard to
upgrade from 2.2 to 2.4.

I am just probing the subject - e-smith's have stated that they prefer to
have a varitey solutions for a function - ie different backup solutions, fax
server etc. I

I have also installed hylafax on e-smith and it is working very well. I am
using the whfc client, it is much faster than Cypheus and very
straightforward.
The standard fax resolution is pretty poor indeed. But setting resolution to
high (Fine Print) in whfc handled it and now I am very happy with

I've also encountered this issue with file locking on
Accpac (DOS) installed on the e-smith server. The fix was to
turn off opportunistic locks (oplocks) as others have mentioned
on this thread. Very prevalent if the workstations are WinNT/W2k.
You may implement this either per ibay or globally
Hi Luuk
In the perl script, it should have a path statement leading up the script.
You should paste the script here, assuming it's not sensitive, so we can
"look" it over together

Thanks,
I'll wait with installing the extensions because I make a lot of changes in
my I-bay's and stuff for test purposes.
Frontpage has a few functions (such as 'send reaction to e-mail' and 'a hits
counter') that are useful, but can be created on various way's. It's easy
when you can 'drag an

Me again!
I put the server in question (Mail - be good everyone!) into server and =
gateway mode.
Made sure that the correct net cards were assigned to the correct duties =
(As I could ping correctly).
And then rebooted.
Now I could get into the manager using a SSH tunnel to port 980 ok.

Hi there,
Still working with on the permissions, and now trying to get Cgi working.
First my form on the webpage pointed to 'mail.cgi', but then I get
'permission denied'.
Now I've changed it to '/cgi-bin/mail.cgi' and I get the following:

This is merely theory, I didnt get to try this on the system I was
massaging.
On the RH7.0 box,
use one of the tools that are on the qmail webpages to convert the mbox
formats, then tar the resulting users home directories up, transfer them to
the new machine untar and check permissions etc..
