Hi Robin,
No, it is not possible to define specific validation on coordinates except
the general validation of latitude and longitude.
However, if you look at the latest Event Capture app, it is possible to
capture coordinates from Google map. The app also allows to zoom-in/out
based on polygons

Hi Thanh,
Yes the tracker capture is suited for such kinds of use cases. We could
help you a lot if you are a bit specific on your needs.

Thank you,

I like the idea of having an option to either validate during data entry,
or once the record is completed - each program will have different
requirements.
Regarding stopping the completion of an event: this should probably also be
an option. In some cases a warning is enough, in others you don't
Dear Prosper,
dabbling with ways to run validation rules, we might discuss where it is best
to run the rules and show the error messages. One option could be to run the
validations while the user types data, and show an error message next to the
field with an error immediately after the value
Hi Robin,
I think what Abyot means is that general validation would be something like
saying that you could setup a bounding box for the area which you know you
are going to receive coordinates. For instance, if the countries latitude
is between -18 and -25 degrees, you could setup a rule to

Hi Jason,
Thanks for the detailed reply. It might a useful feature for later if other
users see a need. For the moment, we will have a look at the general validation.

By general validation I mean:
latitude = [-90, 90]
longitude = [-180, 180]
To see Google maps, you need to use the latest trunk, which Jason suggested.

With Tracker, there is a high probability of getting duplicates (could be
exact duplicates, or misspellings of name for example).
To deal with this, it would be good to be able to designate SOME of the
attributes of each person (or rather trackedentityinstance) as the ones
really identifying a

Hi Elmarie,
Quite difficult to tell what exactly the issue is. If there is any log on
your browser console, sharing that will provide us more clue.
At the same time, can you check once again if your program is MEWR?
Also which version are you using? Does your program have program stage(s)

SDMX 2.1 has the concept of a REPORTING_YEAR_START_DAY. See

Thus you can have PERIOD=2010 REPORTING_YEAR_START_DAY=--07-01

Hi Prosper,
Applying validation rules is not yet ready for both event and tracker
capture apps - we are working on it.
