Hi Gerald,
The two steps that are often ignored when configuring a data set are:
1) to add the data set to a user role
2) to make sure that this user role is assigned to the user who needs to
enter data for the data set
Maybe you missed out on those?

Hi Lise,
As far as I know, the only work-around right now is to code your
qualitative answers as numbers (e.g. 0 = No, 1 = Yes, 3 = N/A), then create
a legend set with corresponding ranges, see example below.
We've used this for aggregate data elements at country level, but would
assume that it
Hi all,
When cloning data elements and indicators. the sharing settings are not
cloned.
Is this intentional? If not, can the sharing settings be copied to the
cloned DE/Indicator?
Especially given the new sharing interface, which is much less
user-friendly and less stable than the previous one,
Hi Jason,
Same here, at PSI we have several countries that rely on the French
interface, mainly Benin, Mali, Senegal, DRC, Cote d'Ivoire, Cameroon,
Madagascar.
As you know I've already done a lot of the translations in the past and
happy to further contribute and clean up.

Hi all,
I support the idea of a GPS stamp in Event & Tracker capture, as it's 1) a
way to assure quality of data, and 2) it minimizes effort on the person
collecting data.
A program setting would be great. I can imagine that in some cases we'd
want both the automatic GPS coordinates AND
unit(s) to the group
The latter is usually easier for existing org units, and the former for
newly created org units (provided that they are created through the user
interface, one by one).

Hi all,
We (PSI) are facing the same problem, with favourite maps no longer
displaying after we migrated from 2.19 to 2.20. Below is what I find in the
console. I can display new thematic layers, save as favourite and display
again without a problem, so this only seems to affect existing
Same here, +1 for PSI. It's a common request that users (and donors!) have
so we would love to see it in the next generation chart engine :-)

Hi all,
Looks like there's a bug with the sharing of favourites in all analytics
modules, both in 2.17 and 2.18: when searching for a users group, no
results are returned so it's impossible to share favourites other than
leaving them as public. Just tried in demo server and same there.

There are multiple ways to do this, the easiest of which is to install QGIS
(www.qgis.org), open the shapefile and then save as gml. QGIS also allows
you to easily transform projections, in case your shapefile is projected.
More info on handling boundary files in the documentation, though I'm not
Hi Lars,
I can see that this option is confusing to some, but it's very useful to
others so please reconsider removing it - let me explain: in settings with
highly dynamic org units (i.e. new org units are being added on a regular
basis), assigning a data set or a program to one or more org unit
Hi John,
The coordinates are indeed missing from the Event Capture app, at least for
now, so there's nothing you can do about it except for pushing the
developers :-) Note that even in individual records data entry entering lat
long doesn't work properly (values are not saved) - Tran is looking
Hi Kader,
Olav is probably right; one would typically give everyone access to the
dashboard (but not necessarily analytic modules), which is usually the
default start page (go to System Settings - Appearance to change). Then all
you need is one role that contains the authority to view the
Hi Adedayo,
If you need to modify attributes in the dbf file, you should only do this
in a GIS software such as www.qgis.org - never modify the dbf on its own
(eg in Excel) as this will result in a corrupt shapefile. It's also much
easier to define the projection or to convert to a different
Hi,
I've noticed this bug too, but it only seems to happen when one first
filters on the data elements.
Manaf, can you try selecting your data element without first filtering on
the name, and see if that works?

Hi Bob,
I don't think there's one single rule that will fit all when it comes to
choosing your symbols or colours for a thematic map depicting numeric
values. There's nothing wrong with say a red/yellow/green colour scheme if
you are showing for example reporting rates, where low (red) = bad and
Hi Marko,
Two decimals are accepted for the class limits in legend sets, which I
think should be sufficient? If I remember well, earlier 2.11 (and 2.10?)
versions didn't accept decimals at all.
