Re: [Dhis2-users] [Dhis2-devs] Issue with database locale change causing resource tables to fail

2018-07-11 Thread Victor Garcia
Hi Elmarie,

Based on the log I cannot say that it is the same issue, but we have
experienced some similar problems with servers in different time zones,
mainly when the timezone has daylight saving and it falls at midnight
(0:00:00.000). Our guess was that DHIS2 sets by default the hour to
midnight when only a date is provided. And it seems that Java date parser
has problems with that.

Re: [Dhis2-users] Sharing settings

2017-09-07 Thread Victor Garcia
Hi,

I also share the issue raised by Lisa. For us the problem appears when
superusers are also regular users in the system: they can do typical
superuser tasks like creation of public data elements and data sets, and in
other moment they can do some analysis just like other standard user and
they assume their tables are private. And then they have to remember to
remove the public sharing.

Víctor

Right. I think this has two sides to it - for basic metadata like data
elements it makes sense to at least allow it to become public when creating
an object. Otherwise, inexperienced users might have a hard time
understanding that you need to share it before anyone else can see it. A
solution to this would be to have a basic sharing UI inside the "add new"
object screens, so that for users with "create public" authorities, you can
choose whether to make it public or private before creating an object.

Re: [Dhis2-users] [Dhis2-devs] How to reduce table columns

Hi Paul,
If you prefer to avoid creating and maintaining custom forms, maybe you can
use the custom JS/CSS files to apply the styling commented here. It will be
more difficult, but I think it is possible.

Re: [Dhis2-users] couple questions about dataValueSets API

2016-12-07 Thread Victor Garcia
Hi,

about importing datavalues in zip format, I think it is possible since it
was fixed in 2.21 (https://lists.launchpad.net/dhis2-devs/msg46144.html). I
am able to import a zip file using Postman and using our own webapp both in
2.21 and 2.25, so it seems to be working fine.

On the other hand, I am not able to import a zip file using curl with the
command:

curl.exe -d @test.zip -H "Content-Type: application/json" -X POST "
http://localhost/api/dataValueSets; -u user:password -v

but I guess I am missing something...

Re: [Dhis2-users] [Dhis2-devs] [HELP] Timezone impact of DHIS Server

2016-09-27 Thread Victor Garcia
Hi Sultan Ahamar,

in MSF-OCBA our servers in field have the default timezone of the region.
We decide to do that because we have some scripts (like backups and,
sometimes, server reboots) that must be run at night. In this way we can
have the same server configuration for all of them.

But next year we plan to use metadata sync functionality, and metadata
versions have a timestamp generated locally that could become an issue with
different timezones... We need to assess that yet

Víctor

Re: [Dhis2-users] Use of dataStore

2016-06-21 Thread Victor Garcia
Hi all,

thank you for the clarifications. They are very helpful to figure out how
access control is managed in dataStore resource. So just to confirm that my
thoughts are right:

- Access to reserved namespaces is only allowed to users with access to the
corresponding app.
- Access to non-reserved namespaces is allowed to everybody. I have checked
this in demo server: a user with "Guest" role can create and read an
arbitrary namespace.

Is there plan to modify this behavior in the future, I mean, to protect
non-reserved namespaces? We are about to build an app that make use of
"public" or non-reserved namespaces, and it is important for us to know if
the access control is going to change.

Thanks!

Víctor

 Hi,

defining namespaces in the manifest file only restricts access to the
namespace, it does not create it.

The namespace will appear as soon as you add some data to it. The way
the dataStore is designed, a namespace only exists when one or more keys
 are present in it.

Hope this help, and let me know if you need any more help with the
 dataStore.

Re: [Dhis2-users] [Dhis2-devs] Data set with complete button

Hi Channara,
maybe you can try with custom script
https://www.dhis2.org/doc/snapshot/en/developer/html/dhis2_developer_manual_full.html#d5173e4531.
In the script, first check the state of complete button and then,
depending on that value, make all entryfields readonly.

I think what you want to do is not to change or edit data value after

Re: [Dhis2-users] Translations not shown in pivot tables

2015-06-25 Thread Victor Garcia
Hi all,

I want to pick up this thread to know if it is planned to progress on
this issue. In version 2.19, it seems that translations of
dataelements and indicators are still not shown in left-side menu of
the reporting tools. Besides, they are not shown in tables nor charts
(they were in 2.18).

This is not something we can support in the 2.18 release sadly, but we have
extended our web-api to support db translation in 2.19, so hopefully the
reporting tools will also be updated to reflect this.

[Dhis2-users] Issue when aggregating dataelement with categoryoptions

2014-03-25 Thread Victor Garcia
Hello,

we have defined dataelements with a non-default category. The values of
these dataelements come from the aggregation of individual data values. The
manual aggregation process works fine, and the values are correctly
stored in the database.

The problem is that these values do not appear in the Services - Data
Entry module. But, however, if the values are introduced manually in the
Data Entry module instead of using the aggregation process, the values do
appear.

I have checked the datavalue table in the database and there is a
difference between them:
- When the value is stored using the aggregation process, the
attributeoptioncomboid field takes the same value as the
categoryoptioncomboid field.
- When the value is introduced manually in the Data Entry module, the
attributeoptioncomboid field takes the default value (15).

Finally, if the dataelement category is default, the value correctly
appears in the Data Entry module, however it is introduced. The problem
only occurs when the dataelement category is not default.

We are using the version 2.14 revision 13807.

Thanks,
Víctor

[Dhis2-users] From Excel to Single Event Program

2013-01-21 Thread Victor Garcia
Hi all,

Some time ago I was looking for a way to introduce a large bulk of patient
data registers into DHIS2. I didn't want to do that manually, so I wrote a
java program to introduce the values right into the database.

Now, I have modified the program in order to make it reusable. The program
reads a excel file which contains all the information required to perform
the import: database parameters, program parameters and person data values.
The program and the data elements are identified by their names, so there
is no need to provide their id's. The same for organisation units.

There is a file called instructions which explains the right way to use
the excel file and how the data values are treated. If you are ok with
that, it is not necessary to do any modification in the code. Anyway, if
someone wants to take a look at the code, it is in the code folder.

The program is in a jar file, so a way to run it would be:
$ java -jar adapter.jar path_to_the_excel_file
The excel file must match the template provided.

I hope it could be useful for someone.
