There is now a pskmail/fldigi version which will run INSIDE windows XP(tm),
using an embedded QEMU emulator.
The effort is now reduced to downloading

unzipping it in your C:\ drive, and clicking a few icons.

Thanks, I will check this.
Rein, I am Linux illiterate. I have a alpha copy of Skip Teller's
Emcomm to test, it is on a Linix CD boot disc. Is It possible to use
the PSKMAIL puupy boot ISO and then ADD Emcomm to it so that I can
test EmComm and PSKMAIL from the same boot disc (or the partition
This was meant for linux illiterates :)
The pskmail_puppy for windows runs inside windows (now also tested on my Compaq
M700, W2k laptop with 192 MB), so there is no special magic involved
whatsoever.
For the windows version you don't have to reboot anything, just download the
zip file, unzip
The first Windows test stalled after I selected the video option
(ORG). The ISO CD boots just fine and wirks OK with my hardware.
Maybe I will try vesa

OK folks. I wrote in another forum last week that ALE is really the ONLY
method of digital communication that makes sense , and the methods afforded
by PC-ALE and Multipsk are the most efficient you can get. I also mentioned
that for the concept to work, we need many hams to be active , not just
Vesa works here, Xorg has a problem. 1024x768 is a good resolution.

Yep, Vesa is fine here too but just 2Megs of RAM left when the Linux
desktop is booted on my 512 Ram PC. The desktop icons are over
lapping and I can not see all, is there one for PSKMAIL?

Hi Rein,
Can VESA support wide resolution monitors? I can not get either Xorg or
VESA to run X properly on my 22 Samsung 225BW monitor, but it can be
used good enough to get by in testing things.
The big problem is that I have found no way to get the rig control
software to work. This must

FYI, I did get it to work under vesa, I saw no PSKMAIL icon on the
Linux desktop but found PSKmail in a director and it booted just fine.
I did not find fl-digi though, so going back to my working Emcomm
boot CD for now and will try to figure out a way to have PSKmail,
FL-digi and SKip's Emcomm

Andy,
Yes, there are ICONs for pskmail, fldigi and the email client at the top of
the screen.
On wednesday the 12th I'll be making a presentation and demo of WSJT,

As part of the demonstration I'll be calling CQ on 14.075 from about

Thanks for saving me from some fruitless testing with the QEMU approach.
I have to have rig control in order to work with my ICOM rig. It is not
possible to key the VOX with ICOM rigs that are wired to the rear DIN
connectors. I would not be willing to use any modern software that does

It is working on the PI4TUE server, PTT out from fldigi via RS232.
Frequency scanning via hamlib rigctl.
The PTT will work also when you use the Linux puppy boot disk.
I did not include hamlib as it is not necessary for the client. The servers are
scanning
fixed channels, so it enough to put
