I agree with the comment about MFSK16 being the optimal way to go. What I can't
understand is the reluctance of folks to try it, or the idea that it is hard
to tune.
Bottom line, it isn't hard to tune at all. Line up on the carrier signal and
there you are.

MFSK16 is available as freeware on both MMVARI and Stream.
It's a little finicky to tune on Stream (the orignial software for the mode),
but easy using MMVARI.

I think the basic problem is that fewer than 10% of PSK31 operators have ever
bothered to learn how to set up split operation. One more reason that the mode
is great for casual DXing, but next to useless for serious DX work.
