Hi,
I can't give you any info, but would appreciate hearing how you get
on. Soundmodem ax.25 on the NSLU2 is one of my future projects, but
as current projects keep slipping to the right, I've got nowhere near
looking at it.

Hi again,
Sorry for replying to my own post, but I've just found this new-ish
article on the IEEE Computer Society site which may make the topic

Hi all,
After having read some of the recent thread which discusses the
robustness of the internet and amateur messaging mechanisms, I'd like
to post a link to the the Delay Tolerant Networks Research Groups web-
site (www.dtnrg.org) and encourage any interested persons to take a
look at th
Me again,
I've just wondered about something. Which, if any of the modes/
modems supported by gmfsk.hkj.51 can support transmission of binary
data, or do they all have support for only a limited subset of octet
values?
Sorry if this is drifting further off topic.

Hi,
I'm interested in using gMFSK like this too, but for a different
reason. I built the HKJ variant with the WANT_MAILBOX macro defined
but the echo trick didn't seem to be working for me.
It appears that it is also necessary to create a file called
PSKmailclient in the home directory too,
Hi Jim,
Hampal, based on the DRM waveform may be a good bet. Its supports
JPEG-2000 compression and progressive display using the Irfanview
plug-in. It supports an ARQ-like mechanism too, using Bad Segment
Requests.
It's well worth a try, although it has been a while since I used it,

Hi Joaquin,
For Mac, try http://www.machamradio.com/index.html. Cocoa-modem is
the best digi-mode app around for OS X. Xastir is great for APRS.
For Linux, the 0.7pre version gMFSK is probably the best thing going
at the moment, covering Olivia and CW in addition to the usual
suspects (ps
Actually you gave me an idea. I tried running gMFSK via a remote X
session from my iBook. It seemed to work OK, but the waterfall
display was struggling and the wifi bandwidth utilisation was pretty
high. I'm going to try and get FreeNX running on Ubuntu, and see if
that fares better
Hi,Can we just compile this into the latest release of gMFSK, or isn't gMFSK built like that?Darren, G0HWWOn 22 Apr 2006, at 22:04, Pawel Jalocha wrote: It is my pleasure to annonce that the MFSK/Olivia source code is released under GPL and can be dowwnloaded from: http://homepage.sunrise.ch/mys
Hi all,
You can try using progressive decoding with Hampal and some other DRM
based apps. This means that reception of a JPEG-2000 compressed JP2
file is not an all-or-nothing affair. You can view the image at
various degrees of quality and resolution as it is decoded on the
fly. This m
The WAV format isn't significant for interoperability purposes. It's just a way of formatting input and output to/from the sound card in order to get it to work as a modem. This needs to be done without using a compressed audio format which would degrade the signal to noise ratio on send and re
Hi all,
I've just renewed my licence after a long lapse of 15 years or so. I
intend to get an FT-817 for QRP portable HF working digital modes,
mainly. I have an Apple iBook G4, so will likely get a signalink and
an iMic to use with CocoaModem, and other modes/apps as and when they
