I'll be working the JARTS test, RTTY contesting is my favorite. Contesters and DXers do drive new rig designs, antennas, etc that we all get to buy and operate. Also contesting is the only niche in the hobby that is growing appreciably.
Having said that if contest sponsors would designate specific frequency sub bands for contest operation, this would go a long way in quelling the tensions between contesters and rag chewers. Operate outside the designated sub band and the contact doesn't count. Just my .22 due to inflation. 73, Thomas F.
