I am running VISTA ULTIMATE with JT65-HF and JT8 with no prpblems at all.

The same situation here, I have been looking at my migration path from the
TC8174 receivers that I use.
If the all the software tools you are using do not support direct I/Q and
control of the unit then you would be better off with the Flex as you will have
more interfacing and contr
Many years ago, I had the MFJ Packet TNC and the Kantronics UTU. In both
cases I typically used the included terminal program in the computer to
control the device.
Because technology has moved forward, I would not even consider running
old kludgy hardware TU's of this type unless you were doin

Most of the old products had firmware in them , so any terminal
program should work. Load a terminal program (like hyperterm) , set
the parameters for the correct baud rate to communicate with your TNC,
and then usually a "?" or "help" will bring up a list of commands.
