Agreed - I would say that innovation is proceeding faster than at any time
during the 35 years since I was first licenced to create QRM on 160m.
There will be spectacular SDR radios released in 2010 / 2011.

We clearly need to encourage innovation in Amateur Radio. Many potential
innovators may be people working in the fields of Software or Communications
who are not currently Radio Amateurs.
The question is what can we do to encourage people with expertise in these
areas to join the Amateur Radio
