Which reminds me: I've been seeing more and more glowing prase of
HTML5, but not surprisingly, when I've tried digging into the
details, I find a bit of a confused mess of documentation. Does
anyone know of a good introductory HTML5 doc, tutorial, or whatever?
There is a book I am interested in, and it is available in ebook
format.I'm new to the ebook scene. What options are there to
convert it to pdf if I want to view it on my linux laptop? I don't
have any interest, at this time, of investing in an ebook reader (such
as Kindle, etc).
Thanks

Speaking of breaking DRM for ebooks... anyone have any tips? I'm adamant
about buying only ebooks from now on. The problem is that very few
publishers provide their books in a DRM free format. O'Reilly is
one notable exception. I won't be pirating my books, but I don't like the

Calibre can convert either Mobi (Amazon's format) or EPUB (the one BN chose
to standardize on). EPUB books are also available from the public library

If you ever *do* get an ereader, I much prefer the way an ebook renders: PDFs
are pretty much like looking at a PDF on a screen, but ebooks will jiggle their
page numbers etc. depending on font size/orientation.

Portability is subjective. To me I want to be able to read my PDF on ANY

Unfortunately not; Nook books have DRM, so not all readers will work.
