[board-discuss] Results 2015 Elections TDF Board of Directors

2015-12-19 Thread Cor Nouws
Dear members,

I hereby announce the final results of The Document Foundation's
Board of Directors elections 2015. With the challenging phase having
ended and after a change in the initially announced preliminary results,
the following results are now the final ones.

Elected as member are the candidates, in this order: Marina Latini,
Michael Meeks, Thorsten Behrens, Jan Holesovsky, Osvaldo Gervasi, Simon
Phipps, Eike Rathke.
Elected as deputies are the candidates: Norbert Thiebaud, Bjoern
Michaelsen, Andreas Mantke.

Thanks to all who ran for those elections! It's my personal belief that
each vote that candidates received, is a sign of trust from the members
for their dedication and work in our community.
I congratulate those that were elected. By separate mail each will be
invited to accept the new role as Member (or Deputy) of the Board of
Directors.

As outlined in the initial announcement [1], the newly elected Board of
Directors will only be in charge beginning from February 18, 2016. To
help the transition, the current Board of Directors will include them in
the decision making process.

On behalf of the Membership Committee,
Cor Nouws, Chairman

I'm sorry but what are you even talking about? You seem to call a clone (and
apply its negative nuance to it) what started as a
fork. http://www.opensource.org for more and again:
http://gerrit.libreoffice.org -> what you see there is not clone of Apache
OpenOffice .

It seems you want to make a political point while aggressively complaining
about a real issue with language packs on OSX and repeatedly "threatening" to
go back to Apache OpenOffice. My initial reaction was to help you sort out
the issue, but you already had sorted it out yourself. My second reaction was
to encourage you to follow your impulse and go back using Apache
OpenOffice. If LibreOffice makes your life miserable, you have other choices,
and after all, it's not like you've purchased it or something. My only regret
is that I did not understand your point until long into the thread

Cheers,

Charles.
