i think i've found a bug in thickbox:
 
you cannot disable the default behavior of an anchor link if you give it the 
thickbox class.
 
so this does not work:
 
<a class="thickbox" onclick="return confirm('launch google?')" href="HYPERLINK 
"http://www.google.com?KeepThis=true&TB_iframe=true&height=98%&width=600"http://www.google.com?KeepThis=true&TB_iframe=true&height=98%&width=600";>google</a>
 
 
 
i guess this is bypassable if you jquery the onclick event...
