Wanted to pass on to a link provided by the open source initiative ( https://opensource.org). As you know OSGeo relies on OSI to short-list free software and open source licenses that are acceptable to the Foundation. And then OSGeo adds on a host of additional requirements to ensure our projects are open in other respects (communication, decisions, docs, ...).
OSI started a group https://clearlydefined.io/about that looks at some of these other concerns and may be of interest to folks here. -- Jody Garnett
