Reading all those migration strategies from windows to linux might help too. As for the second question: yes you can _access_ your GIS data over the web, see, e.g. MapServer. With some PyWPS magic is possible to even process some data with GRASS over the web. For the third, with a little help from GDAL/OGR, it may be possible to migrate your data, but that I'll leave to more seasoned people here. -- Paulo Marcondes = PU1/PU2PIX -22.915 -42.224 = GG86jc Debian GNU/Linux = http://rj.debianbrasil.org = http://www.debian.org http://www.kombato.org - Seja seu prĂ³prio guarda-costas ___ Discuss mailing list Discuss@lists.osgeo.org http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Bring your balls. http://BigBall.US [appears their site is definitely not ready yet, tools they have are nice though, really fast at building 3d models] On 9/13/07, Jo Walsh <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > On Thu, Sep 13, 2007 at 07:33:46PM +0200, Lorenzo Becchi wrote: > > I'll try to be there. > > [1] http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/index.php/Victoria_mapping_party > > I second this! Hope to make it on the Saturday, anyway. It should be a good chance to work on re-use of data fed into OpenStreetmap, in a lot of different GIS applications. It will be interesting to assess the accuracy and currency of the open-licensed RNF road network data for the area. It would be fun to have many different sensors and comms devices. cheers, jo ___ Discuss mailing list Discuss@lists.osgeo.org http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/discuss
