Nice to hear about this workshop.

Do you intend to make use of the OSGeo-Live [1] DVD or USB as part of 
your workshop?
This DVD/USB provides a very professional experience for trainees 
wishing to learn about osgeo as it comes preinstalled with ~ 50 osgeo 
applications, all preconfigured with sample data.


Our OSGeo-Live 5.5 version will be released early March, which is 
ideally timed for use at your workshop.


Also, you may wish to present a derivative of our osgeo-live 
lightening overview [2].

Yes, Bolivia is gorgeous. I spent a couple of wonderful weeks in La Paz in 1995 
doing an assessment of their GIS capability, and few even more wonderful days 
in Santa Cruz de la Sierra. Still have a charango to prove it. I am sure their 
GIS capabilities have come a long ways since 1995.

A project like this is best done by local developers, with lots of active 
involvement via user lists and other online communities such as this.

compete and come to discover Bolivia for one year, you'll be welcome
:)

you may recall that we had a list of university courses done around two years 
ago:

It should be somewhere on the osgeo web site as well.
These are all full semester regular courses so expanding the list to add 
other types of training would be great.
The list  may also need some updates (I need to add two additional courses at 
NCSU as well,
as our program is growing).

But I'm confident, there are good devs in La Paz, and we will not 
reinvent the wheel, just adapt OSGeo software to our needs.

Yes we are thinking all the project as open, as you can see in 
https://proyectos.geo.gob.bo . We need to define better exactly which 
technologies we will use, and maybe later in this year, if more fundings 
are coming, we could think in some teleworking for a specific task (this 
modality exists in the Bolivian public administration, I checked it).
