Re: [OSGeo-Discuss] Download server has moved and requires SSH key access to upload

2019-05-10 Thread Jody Garnett
We only have one server (build.geoserver.org) that needs to upload.

The key thing is access, many of the build systems use the following to
access the repository:

osgeo
Open Source Geospatial Foundation Repository
http://download.osgeo.org/webdav/geotools/

This use case should not require any credentials (and no amount of handing
out credentials will fix).

[OSGeo-Discuss] Download server has moved and requires SSH key access to upload

2019-05-10 Thread Regina Obe
Just and FYI, I moved the download.osgeo.org, upload.osgeo.org to a new home
yesterday.
It is now on a debian 9, running nginx (instead of Apache)

And most importantly the thing that tripped up a lot of people is I have
blocked password access.

If you did not have your ssh public keys installed on the old server, it
means you will not be able to upload your project artifacts.

A couple of people have had issues with this of which I have resolved by
putting their public key in their home folders.

If you are having issues, please put in a SAC ticket.

https://trac.osgeo.org/osgeo/newticket

and one of us will address.

Thanks,
Regina

Subject: [OSGeo-Discuss] Unable to access the geotools Maven repository

Hi All,

The Maven repository at http://download.osgeo.org/webdav/geotools/ asks for
user/password since Today and this is breaking our dependency on GeoTools. This
repository is still referenced in the official documentation at

 http://docs.geotools.org/latest/userguide/tutorial/quickstart/maven.html

Is this a server configuration issue? Am I missing something?

Thank You in advance,

Best

Michele

If you are using GeoTools please make sure you are subscribed to the
GeoTools user list (https://geotools.org/getinvolved.html) where this was

to GeoTools, GeoTools
Please note that osgeo maven repo is under maintenance as "downloads" moves
to a new server.

See https://trac.osgeo.org/osgeo/ticket/2261 for latest status.
