I wanted to share the sad news that Geoff Zeiss passed away last week.
Geoff was involved in the founding of OSGeo in 2005-6 and was a former
board member. He contributed a huge amount to the geospatial industry and
was just a great person. He will be greatly missed.
Hi Jeff, and all, I think it might be good to prioritize times when there
aren't conference sessions going on ... lunchtimes and end of day after the
sessions end. I suspect that during the sessions there won't be many people
around at the booths, and I imagine many of the other booths will not be

Hi all,
As a previous FOSS4G chair I would just appeal to everyone to go easy on
the organizing team. I was not involved in the selection process this time
but I do know there was a high number of workshops that were submitted, so
unfortunately half the submitters are going to be disappointed and

Hi all,
As Nicolas said, there are videos for most of the presentations at fosslc.
We also have slide materials from speakers who sent them in (roughly half I

Hi all,
A few updates on FOSS4G. Today is the final day to pre-register, so if
you've been wavering, hurry up and do it! We will have onsite registration
too, opening early Monday morning.
We've added a page to the web site on how to get to the conference and get
around in general:
Hi Maning,
Anyone is welcome to attend the OSGeo AGM, you don't need to register for
the conference. So hope to see you there!
Cheers,
Peter.

Hi Steve, have just been having another conversation on this.
We (FOSS4G) are planning to have handouts for the workshops but not regular
presentations. If you want to do something yourself that's fine but my
inclination would be to put something online.
We will be recording presentations
I would like to thank Tyler Mitchell for nominating me, and I am honored to
be standing with a great group of candidates, all of whom have a longer

This has already been mentioned on the FOSS4G list, but I wanted to make

We received feedback from several people that this year's sponsor benefits
offered fewer conference passes than last year's. This was a mistake and we
