Yann Chemin introduced me to Nimalika when I visited Sri Lanka early this year, and I have soon been impressed by her enthusiasm and proactivity in spreading open source GIS, especially in education. I believe that her contribution in teaching is crucial to the future of OSGeo, as it connects the international experts in the field with young generation in Sri Lanka, where open source GIS can make a very positive impact.
