Re: [OSGeo-Discuss] Charter members list

I thought CRO adds people via nomination processs. We are very careful not
to spam the list as the only responsibility we ask of charter members is
elections.

But registering for the website *is* elections since CRO is having trouble
keeping contacts up to date now that there are so many.

From the last "busy" point, I can tell you that now:

Well, I really appreciate that the 300 charter members in the automatic list 
number was not reached.
So I give my great thanks for not making me work (more).

Week before last: 170 charter members, were still missing 220 charter members.​

Hello all

I know that someone mentioned about the following confusion:

When logging in it said:

"Username or mail address"

when we actually don't accept the mail address, and its not any user name,
but the user name from OSGeo LDAP

I just forgot who mentioned that, and I forgot if a ticket was open about
that, if it was opened I just can't find it.
I wanted to do that from some time ago, but I just finally figured out
where I had to do the change

So, I took the liberty of changing to message to:
"OSGeo LDAP Username"

Hello charter members

Hoping that this weekend you have time to work on adding your data to the
OSGeo website.
Remember that the most important element of our organization are the
Members.

Hey, this week 17 members were added to the automatic list

Last week: 153 charter members, were still missing 237 charter members.​

This week: 170 charter members, were still missing 220 charter members.​


So I was kept busy this week thanks :)

I had a question:
> What is the list of Charter Members sorted by?  It mostly looks sorted
first name, but not 100%.

The automatic member list is sorted by [first name + last name]
So, I join first name and last name then sort the result

The non automatic member list is a copy of the old member list page without
the names already in the automatic section.
The first part of the list (up to 2016) was kept in an ordered manner by
last name
the 2017 members, were appended to the list at the end, in an un-orderly
fashion

So, I will make a promise:
If next week we hit the 300 charter members in the automatic list, I will
add sorting buttons so that the charter members can be sorted in different
ways.

Note that the wiki login & the osgeo login are different, this last one is
an LDAP login

If you:
* are creating your member page,
* or if it exists already and you are not in the automated section of
charter members page,
* or if you see a mistake
* or need the mantra
* created a double account and now have to pages
* or have any problem

please send me a reply privately, so that we don't inundate discuss channel
and I can give you a hand.

"www.osgeo.org" site seems to be down (with timed out error from Japan).

Are there some troubles on the server ?

I revised again the charter member list and now we have the info of 147
charter members, we are still missing 243 charter members.
For me is difficult to match names only with no last name, or last name
only with no names.

member's page (using the database capabilities of wordpress) and the
automatically generated board members.

** About "Board"  page

I am using the "location" field and for some it still empty.

** About "Charter member" page

Now the member type does not have: "board" and "charter member" as options,
Those are now assigned by CRO. (I am helping CRO)
