Tyler,

A couple of project that I've been working on that are (semi-)formally
documented.

Landon's definitely right on this - and Ann we'd love articles re: 52
North or and other friends that are open source. And a few other
areas we'd be interested in seeing:

* Open data articles might also be of interest

* Proprietary solution mixed with open source, that would be a good case
study

* Project introductions - here's how our program works

* In-depth technical articles welcome too - e.g. agorithms or functions
you are developing

We're working on our 9th volume - that's 9 volumes and going into our
5th year - hopefully we're starting to have an impact and providing a
valuable forum. Keep those article proposals coming!

RE: [OSGeo-Discuss] Seeking Articles, Reports, and Volunteers for Volume 9 of the OSGeo Journal

2011-01-14 Thread Landon Blake
I don't think there is a problem covering other programs or libraries, as long
as they are open source and related to geospatial data. I'll let Tyler comment
on that question if he is listening. At the end of the day, the Journal belongs
to all the OSGeo members, so my opinion isn't the one that counts. :]

However, I think we would have skimpy content if we limited ourselves to only
talking about OSGeo software projects.

You can also submit articles that are related to geospatial topics or the
geospatial industry. They don't have to be articles about a specific program.
