Great idea.. Strength of local chapters strengthens The OSGeo. Local issues, local flavors at one place, will revitalise the thinking process. Alex Borrell Alex, you are very welcome to start a Mexico Local Chapter. Just start a new Wiki page and add the [[Category:Local Chapters]]. You might also go through the Local Chapter Guidelines to get an idea of how your local chapter might develop. I suggest that you have a look into the Spanish mailing list and the Capítulo Local de la comunidad hispanohablante, a lot of activities are already going on there. Best regards, Arnulf. I subscribed too. I'm the board rep for the California Chapter. I'm really just filling in for the rest of 2010 until we can find someone to do the job well. :] Two of my biggest challenges with the California Chapter have been: (1) Dealing with a large geographic area. (2) Getting people with a diverse set of interests involved enough to accomplish anything more concrete than an annual meeting. I'd love to hear how other chapters might be overcoming similar obstacles.
