is there a way to have it automatically remove players after so long?
They will be removed a next server startup if they're not available then.
But I'm sure a plugin could do this :-)

In my case, I do not think the Planet responds to just any code. It must
be due to Planet and the SB2 sharing some code set. I have a number of

Right - so I installed ML, and got the plugin working. All seems pretty

Ah - ok. I'll give that a try instead.
Thanks for the tip - I think I prefer some sort of analysis over user

Good call - cheers.

I just downloaded MusicMagic and opted for a 1-year subscription - about
to try and get it up and running.
Having thought about it, though - a major question remains the same...
Does it actually modify my MP3 tags? I _don't_ want that.

My slimserver runs on a WinXP machine in the kitchen which also has a
Nebula DigiTV card in it. At the moment this machine just runs
vanilla XP pro but i'm thinking of putting a media centre front end on
it and getting a remote control of some kind.
So,
- does anyone else do this?
- how does
Well dual CPUs aren't going to help as slimserver is single threaded, so
your mac is effectively a single 1GHz G4. I would imagine you want the
fastest single proc you can get, but I don't have any specific
recommendations.

Does the UI work when accessing it remotely or are you having problems
when running it from IE on the server?
IE on W2k3 runs in a high security mode which disables a lot of the
riskier parts of IE.
I wouldn't have thought that this could be affecting th UI as there
isn't anything that special
I have been using MusicMagicMixer for some time and it has not altered
any of my tags. It does however give you the ability to manually edit
your tags from the MMM UI.

I've just updated to r3817 and the Fishbone skin seems fairly
'buggered'. I'm using Grey with the left justified buttons (from the

update and lots of s s and .r3817s about the place.
What's up Kevin?

Hi there, I recently got the SB2 and am loving it! I've mostly been
playing back 16bit FLAC files flawlessly. So today I figured it was
about time that I checked out my 24bit FLAC files to take advantage of
the SB2's playback capabilities. What I've been noticing is that there
is a slight gap
I notice this primarily while browsing artwork in the web UI, but I also
often see it with images in the Now Playing pane. In artwork I'll get
maybe 1/2 to 2/3 of the album covers loading, the rest red X's. I can
do a right-click 'Show Picture' in IE and the image then appears.

Well, I downloaded the Tag editing program recommended, but after

Anyway, there doesn't seem to be any difference I can see between the

Sean, what does this mean for the SB2's ability to have discrete power

can currently do this) then you'll have no

If disk IO is the limiting factor, I'd consider a RAID array. With
drive prices, RAID 5 is affordable and gives you both improved disk
access times plus data security.

Yes, you are right.
For seme reason later versions of slimserver reads m3u files present in
the music dir, and tries to add these playlists via the guess-tag
formats, and here national characters are messed up ??? (The m3u files

If I remove the guess-tag
Anywho, I have no idea what SlimServer does with MP3s that have both
tags, but it probably just looks at one set and ignores the other.
That's right, it reads id3v2 and ignores v1 if they are both set.
