I looked at eMusic the other week and they didn't really have any music
I liked.
Interesting that Amazon are going to do one - it would be good if it
was as big as iTunes but without the DRM problems and at reasonable

One thing worth clarifying. If each device on your network is using a

Some people have set up their PCs to act as shoutcast servers using
what you hear as the source; they can then tune in slimserver to the
shoutcast stream.
I've never tried it, but there's no reason it shouldn't work. Of
course, the quality will be lower and the devices won't be in perfect
sync.
I have tested this with Windows Media Encoder - while it works the delay
was about 6 secs. which makes any sort of control very difficult.
I tested playing DVDs using mplayer which allows you to change the
video and sound timings (e.g. advance /retard sound against vision) and

of live shows and electronic music, and I converted many to gapless
playback, although I was for all intents and purposes getting gapless
playback without that

unlimited downloads of 128kbps MP3.
They are charging monthly fees for limited downloads, but the encoding
is now 192kbps VBR.
If your musical taste is non mainstream, eMusic can be a trasure
trough.

and locate any Logitech images, replacing them with Slim Devices
I can just about envision where the proper Logitech Jive remote could be

present an integrated user experience for music distribution as well as

Well I'm kinda with the OP in that it's always a pain where stuff breaks
down shortly after the warranty period; if I have to pay a third of the

from cable to ADSL (OK, that was a mistake). Anyway I can no longer
connect but I've never had a problem before. However I am getting the

Song Scanner is excellent! Beautifully implemented, and it'll be
perfect for the main usage I had in mind - skipping past blocks of ads

Hi all,
Newbie to these forums, my 1st questions. Am running 6.5.2 and have
synchronized one of my SB3s to another SB3, both wireless. All is good
for, say 10-15 minutes, then the synchronized one suddenly stops
playing. The one it was synchronized to still continues OK, but the
first one appears
...just did a few searches, and noted lots of posts indicating
synchronizaton is flaky. A shame.

I'd love to use an old laptop as a remote, but

I buy my music online. Typically Amazon. First I listen to samples then
I have them send me the CD. Having bought digitally in the past leads
to disappointment. You don't have the CD liner, lyrics, or hardcopy to
encode any way you like.

Another way to get keyboard binding is to install Softsqueeze on your
laptop and then synch it to your player (Player
settings-Audio-Synchonize). Turn the volume all the way down on your
laptop (or mute the Softsqueeze player). Since they're now synch'ed,
