Ron, It's very possible that the wireless failure is out of your control. It could be due to neighboring wireless networks, or some new microwave, too many things can cause wireless networks to fail. Just because it worked yesterday doesn't mean it will work today. I use a Squeezebox via wireless

My uneducated guess is that cranking up the volume on the Squeezebox you are exceeding the limits of the DAC. When you do that, the analog output will have some very sharp edges. You could confirm that by looking at the analog outputs with an oscilloscope, something that most people do not have.
