Steve, I assume your SB and PC are on the same internal network.
If that's the case you do not need to open ports on the router.
In the ZoneAlarm you should add the ip range of your internal network
(probably 192.168.1.1 - 192.168.1.255) as a trusted zone.

vnvjeep, In my experience, Slimserver's handling of playlists on

I must add though that the playlist often contains flac lossless

Thanks for reply.

Solved it:
It's necessary to pasted the path to your iTunes library into the
'Music Folder' field under Server Settings -- Basic.
Odd but scanning now works.

Hi Siduhe,
My D: drive is a local drive. I've tried relative paths and absolute
ones... it didn't matter. The M3U that the SlimServer's GUI created
used absolute paths, but it also used strange formatting which didn't
seem to include carriage returns... the entire M3U wraps, which

I am running slimserver on a Linutop (http://www.linutop.com/), which
has similar specs. It works flawlessly.
The Linutop replaced my NSLU2, since the NSLU2 didn't have enough ram
and horse power to cope at all.

It looks like you have some invalid Windows shortcuts in your
directories.
You should look for them (often called .lnk files) and then delete
them. You may need to do a search for hidden and system files to find
them.

will be much improved. IMO, not worth filing a bug in 6.x unless you
