I leave my six month old SB3 on all the time, but this morning I had
problems when turning on the power amp.
The SB3 would not respond to commands from either the IR remote or the
laptop on which Squeezecentre is hosted.
I powered down the SB3 for a few seconds and re-started. I now see a
Try a Xilinx reset on the SB3?

1. Disconnect the power
2. Press and hold 1 on the remote
3. Reconnect the power
4. Release the 1 button when you see Programming xilinx on the
screen

Thanks. Tried that. Scrolling Barcode appeared again. Holding down
Brightness button on remote pushed the SB3 into setup mode, but the
barcode was scrolling as a puctuation to the nromal text prompts for
setup. with very little running.

Hi All,
Look what I found! A new SB product.
Hopefully in a few days logitech will bring out the good news...
Look here:

Squeezecenter):

Booms in my home.

Reinstalled Squeezecenter and that forced a firmware upgrade. All seems
well.
A corrupted Squeezecenter installation? But why? And what was the
scrolling barcode about in the display.
If one of the development team would offer a view I would be grateful.
Squeezecentre now
Perhaps the SB3 firmware corrupted? Installing a newer release of
Squeezecenter (finished 7.3.3 release, build 27044) then would have
caused it to push out the latest firmware version 127 which would
overwrite the previous corrupted one.

Looks good. Again a step towards Squeezeboxes for the masses. Pricing
also sounds right. Pricing and the diversity of product offerings in the
streaming audio line certainly make Logitech a market leader in this
regard.

Seems like some nice extras has been added :
USB host connector for accessing music and photos via USB drive or USB
key
SD card slot for music and photos
Stereo analog (RCA), headphone jack, digital optical, and digital coax
output
4.3-inch 24-bit color LCD with capacitive touch screen

One can only assume that it also means that it has the option of
running a local copy of Squeezebox Server, which would explain the rush
to move to sqlite...
I am currently trying to use custom scan and custom browse plugin to do
somthing similer.
I use 6 custom tags,
subgenere ie mystery, Sci/Fi, horror etc

Yes, you have everything correct as far as connectivity. And no they
are not synced, actually I have them playing two different play lists.
In general I agree with what you are saying (about signal strength).
However that exact same SB3 had this problem for 2 years with 95% signal
strength

Ooh, this is great news - seems like quie an interesting addition to the
SB portfolio. But surely the SB touch wont have the computerpower to run
a full version of squeezecenter??? Maybe its just able to playback files
over USB, like the Boom for example supports UPNP.
Can't wait to hear more
Sorry for the dumb question - what's the projected US sale price on
this? I just might have to return the Classic I just bought.
Thanks

Only a complete uninstall and reinstall yielded success. Of course it
means losing all of one's preferences, which with 5+ players is a bit of
a pita...
I ought to note the re-install from scratch forgets to ask the user
where the music and playlists are - it just points to default
directories.
...and I am having panxdora issues. The SqueezeBoom I am trying to use
fast forwards every 7 seconds to the next song...
I think I am going back to 7.3.2

The Pandora error -which weirdly enough only seemed to affect the SBoom-
was related to *both* SBooms not being able to find the SqueezeNetwork
address. Odd because connectivity was there, and the SB3 did find it.
After fighting a little bit it has mysteriously gone away the the SBoom

Since upgrading to SqueezeCenter 7.3 from 6.5 I have a big problem with

Wow, this is really cool and a brand new direction. My SB3s are going
to seem so quaint in comparison :-).
I think it's interesting that they use the term Touch, as in the iPod
Touch. I wonder if that is just what people are calling it rather than
what Logitech is going to call it.
BTW, it's
You can use Erland's plugins for this - use Multi Library, ensure that
you have something that is specific to audio books (e.g. genre or a
custom tag is Audio Book), have a library for the rest (i.e. music)
and then use Custom Scan and Custom Browse plugins to keep them
separate.

In SC it's referred to as 'volume adjustment' but I presume it is
reading the replay gain data.
But if that is the case, why the huge discrepancy between what Foobar
reports and what SC reports ?
