Before tossing my classic out in favor of the touch I would like to try

I guess that it is built upon squeezeplay just like the controller, so
i was wondering wheter the the software was available just to test it on
a PC.
Any thoughts?

This has already been asked, the answer is not yet. When the Radio is
out of the door and the development team get back to finishing the Touch
then they will also release an more up to date version of SqueezePlay
which will then provide a simulation of how the Touch will look.

I have my SB3 connected to a DAC that supports 96khz playback. But will
the SB3 pass a 24-bit 96khz FLAC through its optical out to the DAC or
will it downsample it to 44/48khz?

Yes, true, but that really is all, and alarms are limited to built in

Wow I really like your Slim Control program (v. 0.95). Very smooth and
fast on my 640x480 HTC Touch Pro. Hopefully one of these days I will
get a squeezebox to use it with instead of softsqueeze which I am using
now. Ordered a SBRadio yesterday so when it ships, I will have more to
play with.

Hi all
I've been looking at a squeezebox duet setup as a multiroom solution.
I'm down to either the squeezebox or another well known wireless system
(not sure if were meant to mention names on here)
My question is to do with the wireless network side of things. I'm
planning on doing a wired setup
A Receiver (or any of the other players) -cannot- act as an access
point.
They can work the oposite way round though. See the wiki for a better
explanation that I could write :)

SB devices including the Duet (Controller/Receiver) are just one more IP
device on the wireless network.
Other traffic and uses are only affected if there are bandwidth issues.

Yes, they are the same except for the logo on the faceplate. However,
the Slim Devices branded SB3s were produced in both wifi and wired-only

have wifi you should verify that the one you are looking at is a wifi

Cool, thanks for the quick history lesson. I'll keep an eye out for the
