Thanx for the explanations =)
I now have a Nexus One (great little device btw), but I can't try
Squeezecommander since neither Google Checkout nor SlideME will accept
my credit card (Maestro) or Paypal :'(
Oh well, squeezecontrol does the job for now, and I'll have to get a
visa card someday...

Thank you.
But there are some issues.
It still shows the artist, when it's Various artists.
That is by design. Various artists is how the DUET controller labels
compilations. So I do it the same way. It's not a true artist name.
It never loads the artist at a later

I just want to say, that if you choose to not support the buttom 5%
performing servers I will understand.
You should probably warn on your website then though.
I want to support them.
I'll start tonight. SC will get dynamic download
Thanks to you all I have learned some things and will experiment a bit

That would be great.
Sure, just explain me how.

Hi,
When I watch a movie on my laptop, it'd be neat to be able to send the
audio to my speakers through the squeezebox.
One way might be to install a second squeezeserver on the laptop and
use the WaveInput plugin on that one. That seems like a bit of a hassle
though.
Would there be any other
I don't think it is worth trying as you won't have audio and video
synced. Although with mplayer you can adjust relative timing - it is
unreliable.

AFAIK VLC can separate audio and video, and add delay to audio. But this
is a manual setting, and I never got it to work exactly as I needed
(works but too difficult to lip-sync)

There's something to be said for older units that can run on much
earlier versions of the server software. I have a SB1G as well as an
original SliMP3. I would consider upgrading them at some point, but not
sure what I would choose out of the current lineup. I guess it would be
Touch or Boom.
I agree with all that better podcast handling would be awesome. For me
personally it would finally nudge me off 7.3.
The current behavior of streaming is nice because you don't get the
backlog and wasted bandwidth from subscribing where you download
episodes all the time, however the problems
OK -- I tried to add XM Radio channels to my favorites menu. The first
one I tried worked fine. Subsequent attempts lead to a Moved to

Can't you just do the rules manually ? remove the old rules and make new

I've never used comodo but most other firewalls have a list where you
can see the apps and their rules, usually you can edit or add new ones
yourself.
I assume you now that squeeze should have port
Hi
I've just noticed that the display on my SB3 has started to flicker.
Strangely it only does this on the dimmer display levels, at full
brightness it is steady.
Is this characteristic of the display and/or PSU failing?

OK did that - but problem still persists.
It's really weird and difficult to pin down, so I'll try and list the
symptoms;
1) SB3 struggles to acquire a wireless signal. Waving it around the
room to find better reception areas (possibly) seems to help but it
still won't stay connected. The

I got VLC to stream the audio and show the video locally, but, as the
others have said, it won't work very well. It's difficult to get the
sync right. Also, for some reason, VLC messed up the aspect ratio (and
perhaps other things) when using this method. Maybe that's solvable if
you can figure
Yup for the syntax and/or algebra fans out there I meant :

I was just cleaning up my stereo when I had to realize that the
connection to the psu on the back of my new SB3 is faulty, as the SB3
shuts down the moment I touch it. Also the the display starts to flicker
ever so slightly (it is not supposed to do that, right?)
So the big question is, are

Both promo codes were working on friday. Today code MIR15 is no longer
valid.
