If you really consider switching your ripping over to the Mac i suggest
using XLD ripper converting to ALAC. Its ripping security should be
superior to itunes. It also creates neat logs comparable or even more
detailed as the ones in EAC and dbpoweramp.

I am having my first experience with a Mac for a media server I am
trying to set up. Its going very well so far and working 98.5 % of the
way I hoped for but I am hoping for some help with the last little bit.
I have been trying to make my first shell script to do what I am doing

Transcoding ALAC to FLAC doesn't require an awful lot of processing
power, even a NAS should have no problem with that.
The limitation is usually that you need an ALAC decoder and some NAS
don't have that.
Under Windows this probably means you'll need to have iTunes/QuickTime
installed.

I am using an Atom powered Win 7 nettop to host my LMS. I have been
ripping to FLAC for years but would now like to use ALAC since I have
just bought a Mac and Itunes is so dead simple to rip and tag with on
the Mac. I have two radios, a classic, a boom and pogoplug running

Bummer. I tried the station, they referred me to freestreams, where I
could not get any contact info.
You'd think a radio station would want to be heard. Listeners are their
business.

The problem is the station, they are not making their stream available
beyond their own web player. Email the station and ask for a direct
stream URL which does not require you to be logged onto their website
(I'd bet they won't provide this).
The other large stream aggregators (vTuner, Reciva,
how are you listening now?
