Hi erland,
I didn't hear about any problems on Android TV boxes yet. I also do know
that some users are using them, though I never asked for the name.
The particular box you linked isn't available in Germany yet, but to
give it a try I just ordered the following two for testing and will

Does anyone know if the G-Box Midnight MX2 would work with SqueezePlayer
?

If it doesn't work, are there any similar reasonably cheap Android boxes
which could be good as an audio pla

I'm assuming he means the RadioIO Ambient stream, not specifically the

Though a Duet would surely work, the Controller might be a bit
confusing. I do think a Boom would be a good option, although the
navigation interface might also take a bit of time for her to master. I
suppose the question is, what will she be listening to, and how much

Are you sure about this strategy? I love my mother but she can barely
operate a CD player. (A feat I hope I can still manage when I'm her
age.) If I did what you're considering, I'd be signing up for constant
technical support.

My aged mother-in-law has moved in with us, and I'm resisting installing
her mini HiFi with its 3-CD changer. She has a TV, with audio in which
is adequate for her listening needs.
I'm wondering which Squeezebox products would work for her? I use a
duet, and I can buy a used one, so I know this w
I'm busily employed (also in the software business) and whatever free time I
have currently goes to music. But if somebody started up a, uh, startup
building a squeezebox replacement, I would be seriously tempted to join.

I'll never forget the first time I heard an Advent cassette deck with
Dupont CrO2 tape and Dolby noise reduction. Shortly afterward I sold my
RTR. Thanks for everything Ray.

I have at least 10! (but I'm retagging now so I can retag again at
retirement... ;-)

casket for later updates)
