I have both an SB3 and a transporter. The SB3 remote stopped working a while ago. That was no problem as the one for the Transporter and other devices worked fine. Recently the Transporter remote stopped working as well. At the moment it is not a problem but it occurred to me what would I do

I'm not sure I understand why not synching volume on the players does not work for you. Anyways, there are volume management options in Airplay Bridge (see Preferences>Advanced>Airplay Bridge), where you can tweak how the bridge maps the SB player volume scale to the Airplay volume scale. Maybe

Sometime within the past 2 weeks I stopped being able to access KFI from my SqueezeBox. I've been using the same URLs (one from JimInPT with Alpine's mods, another an akamai URL) for the past six years. Poof they're gone. I suspect that iHeart finally got around to closing this last door.
