I'd miss my Touch, but I'd move to a Raspberry Pi/Allo/PiCorePlayer
solution. All of my controlling is done via browser or smartphone.

Other forum members are using Raspberry Pi based systems. I was a little
intimidated about getting into this, but I replaced my SB 3 with an Allo
DigiOne Player recently. It uses Max2Play to run LMS and Squeezelite,
all preinstalled. Set up was ridiculously easy due to Max2Play's

Hi All,
I'm a long-term SqueezeBox owner (going back to 2006) and it has been
one of my best purchases. My hardware it mostly soldiering on but I'm
sure at some point they will start to fail. I've had a SB3 fail and
replaced it with a Touch, courtesy of Ebay. This works fine as an
interim fix

This is an OS image that can run LMS and a squeezebox client on a
raspberry pi, including managing the storage (external USB drive). There
are other such images. This gives you server and client in one tiny low
powered box.
Or you can

I run LMS on a PC running Windows 10. The OS forces updates on me which
take a long time to install, and I don't have access to music when it
happens. This is irritating to say the least.
Is there a good way round this problem, even if it means buying a new
hardware running a different OS?
If only use wired players , do you stil have the problem ?

There are some other threads on the older Mondo units, but I could not
find any on the plus model.
Being new to Squeezbox Server (Windows) I don't know if the player can
be controlled by LMS? I see this unit has a built in Chromecast Audio.
Hey, thanks guys. I was able to get it to start working again on my iOS6
iPod and my iOS10 iPad by futzing around with the refresh button and
then the back button several times until it pulled up the mysqueezebox
menu options. Selecting the player just wasn't working no matter how
many times I
But none of us will be "cool enough" to really enjoy that "CD sound".

It's not the login I was having trouble with (didn't try, no idea
whether that works).
It was simply selecting a player. You have to retry a lot until it gets
selected.
That said: it does indeed look like a timeout it needs to run in before
making the actual switch.

It was causing a bit of a problem with MySqueezebox.com, though. I had
to try like 10 times to switch to a player connected to MySqueezebox.com
and then later lost the connection again.
Hmm... I wonder whether it's failing due to our enforcing https on login
and other sensitive pages...

I just gave it a try and it still works on my old devices, too. At least
with LMS.
