Given that the Slim Tray Tool now starts SlimServer via the service I
had assumed the installer always creates the service,
And the start automatically tick box is just controlling the startup
type of the service?

However - I wrote a plugin that continuously reads Squeezebox playlist
tracks from the iTunes Party Shuffle playlist!

Isn't this pretty much what the 'zapped' playlist does?
You press and hold the 'add' key to move the currently playing song to
it, rather than just delete it.

There are Pronto files on www.remotecentral.com that say they contain
discrete commands for Squeezebox.
I've only used the ones linked from SlimDevices before (which don't) but
having seen what's on Remote Central I think it could be time for an
upgrade. A full Squeezebox keyboard on the Pronto?!
Is this to be reflected in the UK price?

If so changing the Perl code will not work if you're running the
pre-compiled executable.
Probably easiest to wait for this change to get made by SlimDevices

A bug that I reported (1160) has been cleared, It related to the time
taken by the shuffle by album mode. On my system it takes around 3
seconds to shuffle 9500 songs in any mode now.

I think that's not true. When I browse artists I should get an All
artists line first followed by the artists seperately listed. I can
than either play or add specific artists to the now playing playlist
or
all artists by using the first line. The same is true for albums,
genre
and so on.

Both browsing folders and playlists do not use the database, so are
slow.
There's a bug for the playlists issue, the folders I doubt anything can

CPU usage is around 5% or less on a 2Ghz P4 unless scanning iTunes when
it's anything up to 100% usage.
