Hi,
I've had this situation in the past but I can't remember the fix.
It doesn't sound like your display has gone wrong though your date/time
wouldn't work if this was the case.
The Slimp3 display is driven from the server and I'd have thought this is
the most likely area where the
Hi,
There were two causes on my machine for the no album no artist problem under
6.5.0
1) Cover art embedded in the album. I went through the files with iTunes
and deleted the cover art and all the tracks but one were put back in the
database.
2) The track title was too long on the last
I'd go for smart playlists. This would address my year limiting requirement
(e.g. for random 80's or 90's music listening).

Pat,
Approximate dimensions of original slimp3.
W x H x D (inches)
8.5 x 2.5 x 2
Hence the name I guess and why people were able to in-wall mount them.
Circuit boards and display were mounted in a stack on a piece of L shaped
smoked Perspex.
Original models even had no case and so circuit
If the SB2 has the same 2.0A 5V PSU requirements as the Slimp3s and SB1 then
In theory, this should be possible. You are pretty much right at the edge
of the POE spec but there is a little margin.
Yes you can buy POE adapters that inject at one end and have another device
at the other end to
Hi,
Anyone else get a Slim Devices promo mailer with a really corrupt address?
Mine was addressed to:
FinlandnSwitzerlandampstead
Nine Mile Rigermany
Rather than the correct:
Finchampstead
Nine Mile Ride
Think about the following:
Fi=Finland
ch=Switzerland
de=Germany
and you'll understand
Hi,
Since upgrading from 6.0.2 I've suffered regular Slimserver crashes. I've
tried the latest 24/7 nightly with no improvement.
I think the output logs below shows the cause; the database connection is
being lost for some reason (although it was never lost on 6.0.2). I don't
think it's MySQL

Charles,
You can always get an idea of enhancements that are being worked on by doing
a search on bug.slimdevices.com
Set Target = 6.1 and severity = enhancement for potential new features.
I doubt if this is a full list and I guess you can't guarantee that the
enhancements will be completed on
I haven't tried it but to some extent, you should be able to set the
Multiple Items in Tags parameter to say / and put several album names in
one album name field. The only (big) problem that I can see is that, unless
you are lucky, the track number will be wrong for all but one of the albums.
Hi,
I have a RH 7.2 system with 512MB memory in it
I have 6.0b1 installed and 5676 tracks in it.
I'm using MySQL as the database and It's nicely populated.
I've iTunes disabled (and I've even renamed the XML file so that it can't be
found).
Everything generally works fine (unless I explore
Hi,
I dont
normally use the web interface at all so Im not sure if this is a consistent
problem.
My server service
has been running for about 5 hours and, whilst the web interface was OK to
start with, it now hogs 100% bandwidth, killing the music. The initial draw and updates run

Dan,

Ok - and what was the server doing whilst the cpu hog was happening? Playing
music? Paused? Nothing at all?
Are you running XP or 2000?
Thanks.

Hi,
I have downloaded the 6.0b1 tar ball (SlimServer_v6.0b1.tar.gz) and untarred
it in /usr/local/SlimServer_v2005-03-08 with a symlink of
/usr/local/slimserver.
When I try to start the process, it instantly dies with the following error
message:
Can't locate auto/DBI/connect_cac.al in @INC
