[slim] using Squeezeplayers as PA system

I am running the latest version of Squeezeserver on a Linux box and have multiple PiCorePlayers with USB-DACs distributed about the house. This system works perfectly for multi-room, multi-zone audio! What I would like to be able to do is use the system as an PA system as well. Is there any way

was that it was multi-zone, relatively open (see the large number of plugins developed) and the HW was good quality. As for hardware, I'm looking for a headless player, one that can sit in my A/V cabinet. It would be good to see Logitech also develop another high-end player, but horses might fly. -- Juggler

Was this bug fixed: http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=7580#c1 I am running Ubuntu 8.04.1 and just issued $ sudo apt-get upgrade. SqueezeCenter has been upgraded, and running (verified through $ ps -ef), however I cannot connect to it through the webpage. Any thoughts? -- Juggler

This is a dumb question, but is this the right sequence of commands to update to the latest SqueezeCenter in Ubuntu: ~$ sudo /etc/init.d/slimserver stop ~$ sudo apt-get update ~$ sudo apt-get install slimserver Do I need to do anything else... or is it really that simple? -- Juggler

I'm looking to have only one music library that is located on a server. I could map iTunes via MacFUSE/SSH directly, however I keep hoping there would be some sort of media server protocol built in to SqueezeCenter. -- Juggler

on it to play the files (can't load to iPod or anything, but can at least play non-protected files). So, all that being said, is there any plans to implement either daap or the web portion? I think this would be a great enhancement as both Mac OS X and Windows can take advantage of it. -- Juggler
